Development[]
The Type-26 is a modified and --in many aspects-- improved version of the Type-25 chassis. It features better armour, lower total mass and lower target profile, in exchange for less ammo capacity. This machine was designed for endurance in combat situations. It features a smaller, more efficient powerplant than the Type-25, as well as more capacity for fuel. To counter the lack of ammo storage, the main weapon was downgraded to a 75mm cannon, mounted on the turret originally designed for the St.Type-120a-2. Due to the huge success of compartmentalization as implemented in the later vehicles produced by Stalker Inc. it was applied to the Type-26's first production series as well. The type-26 serves alongside the Type-25a-2 and the Type-35b in Stalker Inc's private military force as a support tank.
Characteristics[]
Advantages[]
- Excellent armour all-round, combined with sloping on the front and sides of the chassis.
- Good manoeuvrability.
- Small target profile.
Disadvantages[]
- Underpowered weapon for its weight class. Only effective when engaging enemies in the same weight class from the sides or rear.
