Development[edit | edit source]
Before the Type-18's introduction, the anti-air role was assigned to the St.Type-22. However, because the Type-22 was built using a limited number of experimental chassis', Stalker Inc. needed a lasting solution. The Type-18 is an upgrade compared to the Type-22 in its armament and ammo capacity. It uses a 40mm autocannon with HE fragmentation rounds. The turret is mounted on the back because the engine and most of the ammunition is carried in the front, to distribute the weight evenly. Unlike its predecessor, the Type-18 is only lightly armoured.
Characteristics[edit | edit source]
Advantages[edit | edit source]
- Powerful weapon against armoured targets.
- More room for munition compared to its predecessor.
- Unobstructed line of fire for the turret, giving a full 360 degrees of coverage with a maximum elevation of 80 degrees.
Disadvantages[edit | edit source]
- Thin armour.
- Due to a lack of space, the driver will always have his head sticking out of the hatch. If the need arises, a shield can be erected around the driver's hatch.
